Cale Cowan

Cale Cowan is the Managing-Editor of the Nanaimo Daily News and the Harbour City Star.

Prior to joining the News, he worked in newsrooms across Canada, including Ontario, New Brunswick and Manitoba. More recently, he worked as a senior copy editor on the news desk of The Province, in Vancouver, and four years as the managing-editor of the Abbotsford Times.

Newspapers for which Cale has worked have been recognized for excellence in provincial and national competitions.

He began his career in 1989 at the St. Thomas, Ont., Times-Journal as a news reporter. He has worked extensively as a sports reporter and editor, served as editor of an agriculture publication and as an editor/designer with the provincial New Brunswick Telegraph-Journal.

Cale is originally from the southwestern Ontario town of Tillsonburg.
