Vivian Tran

Vivian Tran holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of British Columbia in Political Science and International Relations, and a Masters Degree from the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs (Carleton University) in International Trade and Finance Policy. Vivian is currently a Media and Public Affairs Officer at the British Consulate-General in Vancouver.

A first-generation Canadian of Chinese decent, she holds a strong interest in immigrant and international affairs, a passion for other cultures, and a deep respect for both her home and ancestral countries. Vivian enjoys learning different languages, and in addition to her native languages of English and Cantonese, she also speaks Mandarin and French. Music is one of her great passions, and in addition to playing the piano, flute and saxophone, she is also a closet Opera singer.

A native of Vancouver, she lives for the city’s summers, and tolerates the city’s rainy winters – hopelessly devoted to the belief that even on the greyest, rainiest, most miserable Vancouver day, there really is “no place like home.”
